EDUSAT is ISRO’S first exclusive satellite
for serving the educational sector. It is specially configured
for audio-visual medium employing digital interactive classroom
and multimedia multicentric system. The satellite will have
multiple regional beams covering different part of India-five
Ku-band transponders with sport beams covering northern, north-eastern,
eastern, southern and western regions of the country. A ku band
transponder with its footprint covering the Indian mainland
region and six C band transponders with their footprints covering
the entire country.

MCBS Edusat is a trademark of MCBS division
providing technology & solutions for Edusat projects in
India. It provides hardware & software solutions for various
needs of distance education projects. The hardware equipment
comprise of various Receive only Terminals ( RoT), Satellite
interactive terminals ( SITS) with various uplink and downlink
equipment & facilities for C, Ext C, Ku-bands and other
peripherals required for teaching, conferencing , streaming
etc. The software will comprise of training modules, e-learning
technology & management tools.

MCBS Edusat products and solutions are
based on open standards technology namely DVB, DVB-RCS, IP,
ATVEF, WIMAX etc. These solutions can be used on various cable
& wireless broadband satellite networks.

MCBS Edusat provides choice of various
types & size of terminals for one way and two way for C,
Ext C and Ku Band applications and these can provide triple
play ( Video, Voice & data) services.

All equipment & solutions are designed
and developed based on world's best and latest technology in
Antenna systems, LNBF, set top box and other peripherals.

These terminals have been tested & approved
by ISRO, Prasar Bharati, IGNOU and several prominent bodies
for use in their networks.

MCBS Edusat ( MCBS) has already supplied and
installed more than 2.00 lakhs terminals in India for various
applications.
